Cardiac Science (Quinton) Company History

The earliest Cardiac Science company was founded in 1913 by F.F. Burdick and F.A. Anderson. Cardiac Science, Inc, was formed in 1991 to develop FDA-approved rhythm-analysis software (RHYTHMx), the foundation for the first fully automatic bedside defibrillator. Quinton Cardiology Systems (Quinton) went public on the Nasdaq market (as “QUIN”) in 2002. The following year, Quinton acquired Burdick, the market leader in noninvasive cardiology products sold through distribution, and broadened its product portfolio for physician offices. In 2005, Quinton and Cardiac Science, Inc., merged under the name Cardiac Science Corp., with the Nasdaq symbol “CSCX”.
