Ketosis Diet

The Ketosis diet or the Ketogenic diet is extremely important for weight loss as it focuses on minimum intake of carbs (around 50 grams of Carbs per day) and making the body use you the fat stored in your body which in turn helps your weight to go down. If we talk technically, when a body is in Ketogenic state it will start breaking down your own body fat to fuel the body's normal, everyday functions. It has also been shown to improve disease conditions such as epilepsy, autism, Alzheimer's, cancer and others.

  • The main benefit of the diet is that it increases the body’s ability to utilize fats for fuel due to the lesser amount of carbohydrates in your body. The body is compelled to use the fat present in the body so as to keep it working.
  • Ketosis has a protein sparing affect as once the body gets into Ketosis it prefers ketones to glucose and as the body has enough amount of fat there is no need to oxidize protein to generate glucose.
  • It reduces the level of insulin in the body which results in release of many beneficial hormones such as growth hormone and other powerful growth factors.
  • One of the most interesting parts of the diet is that it also reduces the hunger in people. While on the Ketosis diet you have to consume a lot of fat, which hold 9 calories. This makes not being hungry a very good thing when on the diet.
